Rehoboth Beach House Tour

Memorial Day is right around the corner, and in my mind, I am already at Sunset Beach, NC. I’ll be spending the long weekend there with L, my parents and some other extended family. I can’t wait!

In the meantime, I’m having some serious envy for this Rehoboth Beach (yay Delaware!) house…

Life Lately: 36 in 365 days update

oysters

Life has been pretty busy recently, but I’m excited that I’ve been making progress with my list of 36 in 365 days goals that I started in October 2015. I’ve so far accomplished 10, with 26 to go! Here’s a recap of three goals I recently completed:

  1. Run 3 organized races, of any length: This past weekend I ran the St. Michael’s Running Festival Half Marathon! It rained the entire time (seriously) and was chilly, but I had a lot of fun. I felt so much better than when I ran my first half marathon, and beat my goal of 2 hours. I previously ran the Baltimore Half Marathon in October 2015 and a 5K in Sunset Beach on New Years Day. I’ve already registered for another half marathon in the fall that I’m going to run with my brother-in-law.
  2. Read 36 books: This has been one of my favorite goals accomplished. I’ve really gotten back into reading. I love it. Looking through my list of books read, I’ve definitely gone through phases from business books, running books, memoirs etc. One of the my favorite books that I’ve read recently is Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer. It focuses on factory farming, and has stuck with me. His descriptions and overview of the food we eat really makes you think. I haven’t eaten meat for about a month now and definitely have this book to thank for giving me a better understanding and appreciation for the things we eat. Everyone who eats (so everyone) should read this book!
  3. Go home 4 times: After realizing that I only went home twice last year, for Thanksgiving and Christmas, I made it a priority to go home more this year. While I see my family at the beach, at my brother’s, or on other trips, there is something about going home that is really special. I went home kind of spontaneously for my mom’s birthday a couple weeks ago, which was the fourth time this year, and I’m so glad that I did! It was fun to have a long weekend to just hang out with my parents.

Beach Art

It’s no secret I love the beach. The sand, the sun, the waves, it all brings me peace and relaxation. In an effort to bring some of that into my apartment, I’ve been considering buying some beach prints. I’m thinking of starting with one, and perhaps expanding the collection over time. Here are a few prints I’m considering…
