Holiday Gift Guide: 7 Last Minute Stocking Stuffers

As shipping deadlines quickly approach, now is the time to place last minute holiday orders! If you’re still filling stockings, here are 7 easy stocking stuffer ideas.

Opening my stocking has always one of my favorite parts of Christmas morning. When I was younger, I would wake up in the middle of the night, go downstairs and look at my stocking to get a “preview” of my gifts. Did anyone else do this? Then in the morning, me and my brothers would open our stockings first (all hurriedly and at the same time), before opening our gifts under the tree, one at a time.

Dear Zachary Documentary

This is one of the best documentaries I’ve seen in a long time. It will probably bring you to tears. It’s incredibly sad, but uplifting in it’s own way. The end is a complete twist.

Shortly after Dr. Andrew Bagby was murdered, his ex-girlfriend gave birth to their child, Zachary. One of Andrew’s close friends created Dear Zachary, compiling interviews with friends and family, to serve as a cinematic scrapbook for his son to watch when he’s older.

That’s all I’ll say about the plot. Don’t read more online – just watch it (available on netflix)! I went into it not knowing anything about it, and I’m glad I did.

AFTER you’ve watched the documentary, check out this short video to see how the movie was made and what happened after it was released. Pretty interesting.

I always enjoy watching a good documentary. Let me know if you have any good suggestions! For my 36 in 365 challenge, I set out to watch at least three, so I still need to watch two more…

Holiday Gift Guide: My Favorites

For my first holiday gift guide, I thought I’d stick with what I know and love. These are items I own and really like. If you’re looking for gift ideas for yourself or someone else, hopefully this list will help!

fossil estate framed duffle

Leather weekender bag, $398 // This was a Christmas gift last year. I use it every trip – it’s the perfect size for weekend getaways. I also love how it opens up like a vintage doctor’s bag. The leather has gotten softer and it’s been a little dinged over time, but that just makes it better in my mind. Always get compliments when traveling with this.

Patagonia vest

Patagonia vest, $99 // I recently bought this vest and have already worn it a lot. It great for layering in the fall and early winter. Will last forever.

Smathers and Branson wallet

Needlepoint card wallet, $55 // I use this thin wallet every day. It holds about 7 cards and a few bills, which is perfect for me. The front has leather pockets for cards, the back is needlepoint and it pops open at the top to store cash.

KJP braided belt

KJP braided belt, $88 // I wore this pretty much all summer. Was surprised at how soft the leather was. Bonus: it’s made in the USA.

warby parker sunglasses

Warby Parker sunglasses, $95 // After testing out 5 for free at home, these were my favorite. The lenses are polarized and are great for driving on really sunny days.

Neutral Beach House in the Hamptons

L and I visited her family this past weekend outside of Chicago. We flew in during the first snow fall of the season. Yes, several inches of snow in November. It was fun, but freezing.

The cold weather had me dreaming of warmer days by the beach. Like at this bright and simple 19th century Hamptons farmhouse…
